On the 17th inst., at Norton, aged 72 years, Mrs Elizabeth PRUDAMES.

On the 18th inst., at Malton, Elizabeth YOUNG, aged 81 years, much respected

by a circle of friends and relatives. Her end was peace.

On the Saturday last, at Whitby, Mr Thos. ARGUMENT, aged 73 years.

On Monday the 22nd inst., at South Kilvington, Mary widow of the late John

PICK, Esq., of Thirsk.

On the 23rd inst., at Hardy Flat, near Welburn, Thomas RIGLESWORTH, aged 83

years.

On the 24th inst., at Welburn, Ann SIMPSON, the wife of William SIMPSON,

aged 69.

On the 25th inst., at New Malton, Mr George YATES, cooper, aged 86 years.

About a fortnight ago, deceased was severely bit in the leg by a dog;

Erysipeias ensued, from the effects of which he died.

Mr James MORRISON, of Basildon-park, Berkshire, one of the "merchant

princes" of the city of London, died on Friday afternoon, at his country

seat, where, in a declining state of health, he had resided for some years.

Mr Morrison was in the 68th year of his age. In mental character, and with

immense riches entirely self-acquired, this great millionaire was a

remarkable man. His accumulations may be estimated as nearer four than three

millions sterling, and a considerable sum of this prodigious private fortune

is invested in the United States. In proof of his singular ? and forsight,

we are informed that no portion of his transatlantic capital will be

ultimately ? by the ? "?" in that country.
